Welcome and service was amazing. Detailed map and information provided. Nice little surprises and even a few snacks to take to the airport for our flight to Delhi. 5* service. We had dinner at the hotel one night which I highly recommend. Mum is a fantastic cook. Location was quite good, far enough back that it was quieter, and quite nice to walk to the Ghats and see some of the area. Easy to find the ghats. Hotel arranged airport transport and boat trip which makes life a little easier. The hotel was quite basic, the room was small and dark, the shower was hot but not luxurious....but it had what you needed for a few nights sleep whilst visiting Varanasi. In the photos it looks like there is a nice seating area to relax between exploring but this no longer exists due to building work. We tried to relax outside our room but it was quite noisy and dusty from work debris. Hopefully they'll be finished soon. I would stay here again.

Varanasi is bananas. Its loud, dirty and full of people, cows, cars, tuk tuks and rickshaws. This hotel gives a welcome break from that insanity. Set on the main road to the Ghats, its an easy 15 minute walk there. But its set back from the road with a nice courtyard to give you some peace from the craziness. Family-run, the staff is really helpful and piloted I had a flight issue and had to call the airline and someone gave me their phone to call and then privacy to talk. They also are helpful with local sights and transport if needed. Breakfast is 250 INR and isnt bad, but if youre in a hurry order ahead. Dinner is also available and has a good menu. Made by the family, it was a nice break from restaurants. Water pressure is low but showers are hot, and the WiFi is great throughout the property. Only items to note: you still do get a lot of street noise back here. Especially early morning and late evening. Its also near a temple so at 7:30am and 7:30pm its loud as well from bells. Not the end of the world but something to note. And this is CASH ONLY payment. I would stay here again if Im in Varanasi. The staff even gave me a takeaway breakfast (without me asking) because I was leaving early. So sweet.

This hotel is very near the Ghats and great for walking there and back. I was given a lovely traditional greeting by the owner who was very friendly. I stayed in room number 1 and it was clean, comfy bed and pillows and functional. There was building work going on but I did not find it impacted on me as I am an excellent sleeper. I went on the boat trip they provide with Mogley(hope I am spelling it right) and he was an excellent informative guy and I really enjoyed the boat trip, he also took me over to see a cremation and I was very impressed with him. I did the walking tour but found it too long as I had been to a cremation and along the Ghats so I cut it short but I did enjoy it. All in all, I had an excellent stay and felt safe as I was travelling alone. Well done Sheree Ganesha Palace for making my trip very enjoyable

Varanasi, one of the most ancient cities of the world can be a difficult place for a 70 year old couple not so familiar with the city. I had booked this hotel for my 70 plus years old parents as a surprise trip as i couldn't join of course. The soul of any hotel is not in its building, bed or a fancy bathroom. but instead in its human touch - The customer service! The best thing about this hotel is it does not make you feel like you are living in a hotel even for a bit. It is an epitome of customer service. From the time i made the booking and called them to fix up the sight seeing activities till my parents departed, each touch point was dealt with absolute warmth, courtesy and care that is unmatched. My parents were immensely impressed with the way each and every staff took care of them and didn't leave them out of sight even for a bit. They had stayed for three days and every activity from airport pick -up and drop to city tour, boat rides and Allahabad trip was organized through the hotel at reasonable pricing but with absolute professionalism and family like treatment. It is very easy to get conned in places like these, only if it wasn't for their highly professional staff. If you want to stay in a fancy hotel, you can find many in Varanasi, but if you want to stay at home, this is the Place!!!

We had a fantastic stay here. Everything was perfect and they went above and beyond to make sure we had a good visit to Varanasi. We were hoping to avoid some of the more hectic aspects of the city and this was made very easy by being able to organise everything through the hotel at very reasonable prices. We enjoyed the food and took a boat trip and walking tour (with Rahul) both of which I would highly recommend to see the city. The room had everything you need and was very comfortable. The price was extremely reasonable for the service you get. We even got a couple of little gifts at the end of our stay! Definitely the place to stay in Varanasi.
