We liked it so much the first time that we went back. Unne, the host, goes above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect. The quiet beach north of Varkala is a dream and the relaxing little pool under the fig tree is a lovely way to beat the heat. It's a funky little spot, good for meeting others and chilling away the afternoons.

Very good location in Varkala : quiet and close to the beach. The garden is absolutly amazing with flowers, very beautiful swimming pool and nice tables. Regarding rooms : we initially booked a bungalow for 7 nights but were a bit disappointed by those eco friendly bungalows when we arrived (small, less cosy than expected). The staff was very helpful and immediatly proposed us to switch with a normal room even in this high seasonal period. Rooms were very beautiful with a nice balcony and we finally enjoyed a lot our nights here. Excellent breakfast choice (english, russian, healthy), we tried all of them and we loved all of them.

We stayed for 4 nights at this wonderful resort. We are able to combine relaxation on our terrace or in the swimming pool, in a lovely garden environment a few metres from the sea, with more adventurous touring in the countryside surrounding Varkala. The manager, Sajesh, was very caring, conscientious and carrying. He had great restaurant recommendations as alternatives to the bland and homogenous offerings on the cliffs and other nearby places aimed at tourists. He also arranged rickshaws and cars at good rates and had lots of suggestions of where to go and what to see. Both Indian and Western breakfasts were delicious and filling. And there is a loud, obnoxious but pretty cute white cat who lives there. We loved our stay and would definitely return. The most noise was the beautiful adhan from the nearby mosque. It is in a nice spot, away from the more hectic and noisy places on the cliffs, but an easy walk there if you like that sort of thing (we didn't!).

We stayed at Satta Beach Residence for 4 nights in one of the quaint wooden huts and had a wonderful experience. The accomodation is tucked away a little from the main scene but it means that it is much more serene and tranquil than some of the resorts on the main strip on the cliff. We walked to town twice everyday for yoga classes and found the walk to be 25 min along the coastline which was very beautiful. The huts were Eco friendly and it was very nice to relax on the verandah and listen to the sound of the ocean just 50m from us. Our highlight was probably the lovely pool which was a really nice relief from the warmth of the day and also very beautiful. Furthermore, our host Unni was delightful and attended to our every need. I would recommend this place to anyone coming to Varkala who wants a retreat away from the overdone tourist strip

Very nice place. Located a bit far from the real Varkala - 20minutes walking. The wooden huts are very clean and nice. Friendly staff. Location is a little bit unfortubate during moonsoon. Good wifi and adventurous trips in and around Varkala.
