Oceano Eco has a wonderful large pool and pleasant staff, but the use of space in the spacious room felt odd... there was lots of wasted space, and interior seating was only one desk chair. Breakfasts at the Oceano were average, other meals fine with good service, but the dining area lacked ambiance. Getting to the beach below is a major excursion, but worth the effort, as it is never crowded. ( note that this beach would be inaccessible to handicapped persons) I bought an Ayurvedic massage package ... massages were good but the included doctor consultation felt superficial. Wifi was frustrating to use.

During our visit to India we were welcomed into some wonderful 'Homestays' and small hotels that offered good, clean, air-conditioned rooms and delicious food at a very reasonable price. The Oceano Cliff was very different. Despite paying around 90 a night for a double room, we had no aircon and our room was stifling hot. There was a fan, which only served to circulate hot air inside the mosquito net above the bed. Outside the net, you were literally sweltering. The Wifi connection was poor, even at reception where we were told it was strongest. The bathroom was dark and the tiles on the floor of the shower were all loose. The food was average and no better than food we had been served in many smaller, much less expensive hotels. The catering and room cleaning staff were all fine but if you approached the more senior staff they appeared detached and uninterested. This hotel offers a range of Ayurvedic treatments but we found good, less expensive ones in town. Apart from all the practical issues, it all seemed a bit 'fake' and we felt we had been taken for fools. We would definitely not recommend this hotel.

Not worth the money at this point, but here ya go... Anyway they are only 100mts down the road from each other but Eco is still being built. First, there is Oceano Eco and Oceano Original Auryvedic something... I booked original property but because of leaks from the monsoon (understandable but no excuse) I stayed down the road in Eco. They have non-AC rooms but I stayed in the AC room on second floor corner. They need to get rid of the disgusting shower curtains and this room would be perfect. Great view of pool and cliff. Very little hot water but it was so hot anyway that I let it go. AC was so good I actually froze at night. Room was clean but rest of property TOO dirty. Shower for pool was beyond disgusting, dirty table cloths in "restaurant" which is kinda a eating area but not well equipped at all...again, the build may take care of it. Access to beach is NOT elderly and kid friendly but maybe they are adding steps in the build?

This time we ended up on the south side of the cliff as against the north side like last time. Reservations were made through #booking.com ...price indicated in it were without the taxes...so...be a lil careful with that.... We landed up at the #Oceanoeco as against #oceanocliff....both properties have the same management...the eco has no separate page for us to post our reviews.... The rooms were quaint...sparsely furnished but classy.... The room we stayed was A6 and it is perfect for couples and a small kid...but definitely a think again for couples with big kid(s).... like us.. The bathroom is open on one side ..i.e it has no door..no curtain...so .....take care with that.... Wen we arrived the caretaker at the eco, Mr unnni, had no clue about our arrival details....this was quickly sorted out with mr anuraj at the cliff.... The website does not mention AC...Just a room with a loft.....so u pay 500/- per day for the AC.... especially if you have u r a group of 2+2..and someone needs to sleep on the extra mattress.....which costs @1000/-per day....(mattress+breakfast) Coming to the rooms...all rooms have a superb sea view....it's breathtaking... The eco has the pool and u can chill out there..... The beach can be reached through a path in the cliff carved by the hotel staff.....beach is clean......not crowded..kids can have a great time..... The breakfast is included in the package and is just ok.....cut fruit, fresh watermelon juice on both days, indian food-puri,bhaji,appam,Channa curry n...... omlette for the hardcore continental.... Staff is friendly... Go there for the view n for the pool and be sure to check the details from the website and the staff before u take the plunge.....n the ECO should be better...yoga and massages can be availed at the cliff..which is hardly a stone's throw from the ECO. The evenings have to be spent at the Cliff.. ..having Ur burgers, steaks n schintzels....n beer of course...

I stayed at the Oceano Cliff and not the Oceano Eco which seemed to have been mixed up in the reviews here. They are owned by the same people and yet are very different. I was here in 2013 and returned in July 2017. I met a person who goes every year who I met in 2013 and again this July. They told me standards slipped in 2016 at the Oceano Cliff and have now gone back up again. They certainly have. The staff were very friendly and the stay was superb. If you like to be in the party atmosphere do not choose the South Cliff. I love the solitude. I saw peacocks, mongoose, eagles, so many birds, butterflies, dragonflies and frogs. The Seaview rooms with balcony are spacious and comfy. I was on the top floor and a fan was all I needed during my stay. The food is excellent. Massages are available on site and the Yoga every morning was excellent. A flight of steps takes you to a mostly deserted beach. The main host Anudj provided top notch service. My laundry came back spotless. Only drawback is wifi was only available in the communal areas for me yet my friend could only get wifi in the room, go figure! It was only a minor inconvenience as I wasn't there to be on the internet. I came with 3 other friends and we all gave a huge thumbs up to the Oceano Cliff.
