Stayed three nights in this hotel. It was attached with a reataurant and small garden. Food waz not upto the mark but managable. Nice staff and other services offered by them. Outside is little bit noisy as its close to the helipad road. Overall good stay

arrived in Varkala on our 10 day trip in Kerala without booking accommodation as wanted to get a feel for the cliff & where to stay. we saw this place an immediately booked it, super clean, huge quiet rooms, overlooking beach (amazing sunset spot!) and great safe location for 2 female travellers, next to the helipad, they had cctv, overnight security and gated entry at the start of the cliff where the police station is. the staff would go above and beyond to ensure we were ok, the manager even arranged for a room for us in the eve after our checkout where we could shower before flying home. He gave me great recommendations for a reputable clean ayurvedic clinic and safely held on to our passports for our 5 nights. breakfast was limited but there are plenty super cheap nearby cafes (1 minute walk to cliff strip) that we wanted to check out anyway so that didn't bother us!

The hotel is dreadful. First the bad and ugly. The day we reached, the phone was not working. There was no hot water for the showers, although they hauled some in buckets! The wi fi was not working in the room, we were told the Russian guests staying in the hotel had disrupted it. They restored it on the last day or so. The best thing about this hotel is that it is close to the beach. And the chef was kind and gave us a decent breakfast and gave us great tips on local restaurants. Bottom line is that we do not recommend it.

Sanctum Spring Beach Resort is blessed with a fascinating location overlooking the Papanasam beach. It is situated right next to the Varkala helipad and offers splendid views of the Arabian sea from the private balcony. Mind you, not all rooms come blessed with a sea view, the ones near the entrance are the best, the higher the better. Stayed here for a couple of nights and it has pretty much every basic necessity taken care of. The rooms are comfortable and the air conditioning works just fine which is absolutely essential in Kerala's humidity. The bathroom amenities are in place and does the job for you. Check-in was smooth and we were quickly ushered towards our room. The breakfast served is pretty standard. Do not expect a lot but whatever is it is delicious. The hotel does offer standard wifi which is enough to meet your basic browsing needs. Housekeeping is good and rooms kept clean and tidy. All the best locations on the North Cliff are just walking distance away. The area around the resort is buzzing with activity at all hours. Plenty of amazing restaurants around the North Cliff, thus eating out is never a problem and is actually recommended. All in all, a great place to stay for a few nights and if you aren't looking for too much by the way of comforts.

Grear location, some few steps away from the busiest beach street. Still very close. Clean. One night we booked a cooking class in the restaurant, we made a full dinner with many dishes. A great experience for the whole family. The aircon stopped working so we got to swap room. Really nice staff. We stayed here six or seven nights.
