We stayed for one day only at Varkala Marine Palace. It is just few steps away from Varkala beach. We can say that the famous Varkala Beach Cliff stars from here. The view of beach from the beach and from the top of the cliff are easily accessible from the Varkala Marine Palace. We booked non sea facing, ethnic, wooden carved, vintage looking room for three people. My father loved its passage which gives a view of greenery around the palace and very friendly pet dog and also the constant sound of the wave coming from the sea, he still misses the palace and wish to go again. The Staff helps us to reach the palace and also provided all the assistance we needed. Their polite, kind and happy to help nature help us majorly to experience the beauty of the Varkala. If anyone looking for stay at the Varkala Beach then go for the Varkala Marine Palace, i recommend it and surely going to stay their soon again.

We had a superior Seaview room which had comfy bed, attached outside shower, good loo & bathroom, attached kitchen space and a spacious balcony. Very close to the excellent Sea Sun Restaurant and a few local shops. A quieter section of beach but busy with a steady stream of Indian pilgrims doing puja. On a beach where you can swim or people watch or 3minutes along stroll to the main swimming area. Within a short walk of the busier beach and clifftop area so you get the best of both worlds. A great place to relax.

We found this place on Varkala beach which has an excellent sea view as it's at a slightly elevated location. Food took little time in being served but we didn't mind as we just wanted to relax and enjoy the view of sea with sunset approaching. Seafood is their speciality.

We utilised the hotel airport collection service which was invaluable as we landed at 03.35. As promised our driver was waiting outside and off we went in the middle of the night to the Varkala Marine Palace. An hour or so later and having picked up J (a wonderful hotel employee who makes everything happen) en-route and we were at the hotel, brief check in then up to our room for a well earned sleep. We had pre booked the best ocean facing room and we were astounded at how much space it held. The bed was big enough for a football match and the private outdoor shower amazing. The next morning we met Bhasker, the hotel manager, he spoke superb English and made us feel very at home. Changing money was quick and at the best rate. The hotel grounds lead onto Varkala beach which is served by a few restaurants and shops. the bulk of the eateries are a short 5 minute walk to the cliff top. Having booked in the low season (as that was the only time we could travel) and with the terrible news of flooding broadcast worldwide, there was slight concern as to what sort of holiday we would have. Please let it be known, Varkala is up and running and a September visit is in some respects possibly the best time to go. There are far less crowds, you get better service and more availability at restaurants and Ayurvedic treatments. The weather is fantastic, daily 32* whilst we were there. Bhasker and his team at the Varkala Marine Palace certainly have the interests, well being and comfort of their guests the highest priority and we felt truly blessed that we were staying at such a quirky family run hotel. It is also very clear that Bhasker has a wonderful vision for the Varkala Marine Palace and I have every belief that as time moves forward, under the excellent guidance of both him and his lovely wife, the hotel will go from strength to strength and continue to do fantastically well.
