Situated on the banks of the Palar River in Tamil Nadu, Vellore is one of the oldest cities in South India. Predominant in historical value, the city of Vellore pulsates in all fields starting from educational to commercial, administrative, agricultural, cultural, medical and more. The Archaeological Survey of India declared it as a Monument of Historical Importance and holds the responsibility of its preservation. Kavalur Observatory, located 725 m above sea level, is one of the other famed Vellore attractions.
Being located in state of Tamil Nadu (a land of temples), the city of Vellore is dotted with numerous places of worship.
