I visited GreenLeaves Habitat Wayanad with two of my friends during christmas 2015. Owner of the homestay, Dr Satish helped us is planning our trip from start to end. There was an excellent support from him via mail even before we booked our room with him. We reached by noon after travelling from Bangalore to Wayanad. Immediately on our arrival, we were greeted with yummy food & coffee by Mrs Sailaja (wife of Dr Satish). Mrs Sailaja is a wonderful cook & cooks awesome traditional Kerela cuisines. For evening, Dr Satish took us along with him to the forest & area nearby in his car. He has been staying there since a long time & has a good knowledge about the locality. Me & my friends stayed there for 3 days. The first thing you notice about the homestay is the cleanliness. The entire house is extremely clean & decorated with different types of empty Vodka & wine bottles. Dr Satish is a collector of unique bottles & has a wonderful collection. There is a big lobby attached to the room on ground floor which can be used for evening tea, snacks, playing games & for reading books. This lobby & entire homestay is covered with variety of plants which are personally maintained by Mrs Sailaja. The entire house has cupboards filled with fictional & non fictional books. The facilities provided in the room are as per hotel industry standards & much better than your expectation from a homestay. There is wi-fi internet available incase you wish to connect to internet. Hot water in washroom is via Solar heater & there was no issue with it inspite of cold christmas temperatures. The Homestay is located in Sultan Bathery & is a marked location on Google maps. You wont face difficulty tracking it via navigation. About Wayanad: As Wayanad is a big city with narrow roads & tourist spots located far from each other, its advisable to travel in a private car. Avoid Sujipura waterfalls in peak tourist period as you might get stuck in traffic due to narrow roads. We were stuck for 2 hrs & couldnt find a parking spot for our tiny Honda Brio. There are not many good restaurants & in absence of any chain restaurants, you might find it difficult to find good food in the city. To Summarise: Arrangements in the homestay are excellent. Strongly recommended for perfect weekend Make good use of guidance from Dr Satish for travel planning in Wayanad Dont miss the yummy food cooked by Mrs Sailaja (you anyways wont find lot of options for restaurants in the city)

This is a long pending post to my 2nd Father and Mother i would say... I have been here twice with my friends and each time their care and hospitality has been excellent. The house is situated just oppostite St.Mary's College in Sulthan Battery. This homestay is managed by the owners who live there Dr.Satish (Veternarian) and his wife Shailaja along with their Kids - Mithun and Krishna priya... Ofcourse now Mithun is away for his work... But love to meet you man!! There is one room at the ground floor and one at the first floor and for family and known persons. He always keeps them close by at the room in the ground floor... This place is neat and clean with real value for money... Mrs.Satish (Shailaja) is an awesome cook and you can experience the real flavour of kerala home food here. Me and my friends were pampered by sumptuous food everytime we go... More importantly what i love the most is the care they take. I always felt i was visiting my parents for a break. Dr.Satish has a hobby of collecting different kinds of Wine Bottle... So if you have anything different /new models... he would love to put it to his collections. Overall for me...I would call it as my 2nd home... CU soon Dr.Satish!!

We are extremely satisfied with the choice, a great homestay, clean and spacious rooms. The whole house is very nicely maintained by Shailaja, including a beautiful garden. There is one room at ground floor, adjacent to owner's bedroom and other one is on first floor with separate entrance. We assumed there is a place for driver as it was clearly written on website, however, there is no such arrangement and it is usually made somewhere outside if requested in advance. However, we must say, Dr Satheesh extended good hospitality and he accommodate driver within the house, there is another small room/pantry (as we assume). The breakfast was authentic homemade Kerala flavour - Idly, Dosa, Puttu with egg Curry etc. There is a playground in front of the house, we utilized it for playing cricket and women practicing car driving. Later we understood, the ground is used by RTO as well for test driver before granting DL. Sulthan Bathery is a small place, the major market is about 5-8 min drive from this place. Not many places to see and few restaurants overall. Edikal caves is one place to see - some 15 KM from this place. We drove down to Vaithry once during the stay, it is no extraordinary except a great photoshot in a tea garden. Overall, the place has nothing to offer, does not have beauty of a hill station (like we see in coorg etc). The nearby wildlife sanctuary is complete waste, when you compare to Bandipur, Nagarhole. Regards Anil
