We were really excited going there but the minute we arrived, we fell in love with this place. The food is super delicious, the staff is so welcoming and caring and our Mackenzie Suite is incredible. There are so many lovely details, it is just amazing!

Waking up to birdsong and being the only guest at this very plush and private property was a beautiful experience. The Hornbill treehouse soared 40 feet in to the thick of the jungle. The earthiness of the holiday was accentuated by the courteous staff and flavourful food. A holiday with tranquil moments where I could read to glory with nary a soul to disturb me. Whenever we needed some activity we had plenty to choose from. Nearby steep climb to the Edakkal cave and the cool waters of the soojipara waterfalls gave us a great workout and some fun memories.

Enjoyed a great family vacation in an idyllic elysian boutique homestay. We had the pleasure of staying in the luxury of the McKenzie suite which was the colonial bungalow, home to the initial Scottish ownerMr.Mckenzie around 150years ago as well as the Woodpecker tree house built atop jackfruit trees. Had the pleasure of meeting and interacting with the owners who were wonderful hosts and it was just like living at home. Must mention the food was authentic local cuisine with a personalized fine dining class Mr.Mani the chef sets his own standards. With all the ingredients from the plantation the tastes were just like home cooked with a 5star presentation. The staff were extremely attentive and the attention to the minutest detail with an intention to please was evident uniformly among each staff member. Strongly recommended stress buster with a difference.

Built originally as the home for a Scottish coffee plantation owner, this small boutique hotel only currently has 4 rooms (two in the original plantation house and two in new tree houses) but is set in over 200 acres of plantation woodland where tea and coffee are still grown. We stayed in one of the tree houses, looking down from the canopy to the ground over 15m below us. The tree house has been beautifully furnished in dark wood and includes a nicely appointed ensuite bathroom. The slight sway in a strong breeze wasn't a problem and added to the experience! Food was provided in the hotel restaurant which is situated in another nice colonial era building with open sides and more dark wood furnishings - beautiful ambiance and lovely, freshly-cooked food. If you want to wander then there are several pathways across and around the estate, providing opportunities to see the bird-life and crops. This may not be a vibrant atmosphere but if you need to chill out then this is the place.

We had a 3 day stay as part of an experience of Kerala. Pepper Trail is a wonderfully peaceful place with lots of bird and monkey life amidst the coffee plants. Our room which was the bottom floor of the bungalow was more like a colonial suite. It was well appointed had a very comfortable bed and all mod cons. The food was delicious and the staff couldnt have been more helpful. In all a great stay and we would recommend it to anyone.
