What's Good: there is very little choice of food. food really needs improvement.

What's Good: We upgraded on arrival to a Cottage. Manager and the staff were excellent. Courteous, polite and willing to accommodate requests. Location is ideal and the general ambience is good. Overall a very pleasant experience

What's Good: The hotel is located at very calm and quite place. The surrounding is very good and worth money to enjoy the nature beauty. The few things that I didnot like- 1. The complimentary breakfast is fixed quantity. (one idli, one vada, one small bowl quantity upma/ponga, tea/coffee) If you need any extra, it is available on extra payment. It would be good if they have a buffet breakfast. 2. The building is very old. The suite room lacks the ambience. Old dusty sofa, Unclean door and most inportant the water heater in room takes a long time to give hot water for the family of 3 members. For the name sake it is suite. 3. The lunch meal is horrible with extraordinary charge. Better take food outside.

Good value for money, however things like room service etc is a question mark. Food is cheap and decent. Location is beside the lake however do not expect a great view from the rooms to the lake. Overall, if you are on a budget trip and need a weekend getaway, this place suits well

Good hotel of TTDC, staff seems to be lazy or bribed by nearby private hotels and restaurants ,since these TTDC govt staffs push visitors to go to nearby hotels and restaurants. If you try to book ticket to stay at ttdc Tamil Nadu Yercaud hotel it rarely shows rooms available , but rooms are vacant there it seems. Buffet lunch was delicious but staff themselves not promoting these.

This was my third visit to Yercaud, and this time I had also made up my mind on where to stay. During my previous trips, I had noticed Hotel Tamil Nadu (TTDC) as I entered the small hill town. The most important aspect of this hotel is its location and easy accessibility. The hotel is right next to one of the star attractions of Yercaud; the lake. Some of the rooms here have a balcony from where the lake can be viewed at just a few meter's distance. Reservation to the TTDC facilities is quite easy, as they have a web site. Stay in a "Deluxe Double Room" costs less than Rs. 1500. The check in and check out is at 1000Hrs, and on the day of travel I just informed the reception that I would be coming in quite late. The hotel has decent space ear-marked for parking, as well as a small play area for children. The building has the typical Indian government building design, furniture & fittings. The hotel is very similar to the PWD Inspection Bungalows. Check-in was done very quickly and efficiently, and I was soon taken to the Deluxe Double Room which was assigned for me. The room was very spacious, with working intercom, celing fan and wall mounted LCD TV. A big wide bed with clean linen, two sofa chairs, a table and two plastic chairs and a big cupboard completed the room furnishings. The cable TV system in the hotel has a good collection of TV channels, including all the major ones in South India. The room also had a balcony, which offered a very good view of the boat house and the lake. The hotel did not offer free Wi-Fi, and my Airtel 4-G dongle was not giving very strong net speeds at Yercaud. The bath room also was quite big, and did have hot & cold running water. The hotness of the water was at times very low, perhaps they may be using solar based water heating system. The hotel provides clean towels and soap, but not more than that. I have seen some budget hotels also having a "toilet kit" with combs, tooth brush & paste; but such a facility is not available here. As a solo traveller visiting Yercaud only for a short time frame of one night and half of the next day, the comforts offered were quite acceptable. Breakfast was complimentary and it was a typical South Indian fare; Idlys, Vadas, Dosas and Pongal. This was quite tasty and sumptuous as well. Each room is authorised for two breakfast coupons, and the reception staff has no problems in giving two coupons even when the room is occupied by a single person. The hotel even though kept clean & bright did bring out some aspects which can be improved. Right next to my room's door was a small metal tower used by the painters. My room also had a huge bed, folded up and placed next to the sofa styled chairs. This was supposed to be the spare bed, in case some one asked for an extra bed. The two sofa type chairs had the look & finish which showed poor workmanship. The hotel has a restaurant and room service. Crumbled up menu cards are also kept at every room. All items listed in this menu may NOT be available as well. The door man/parking attendant and the room service boys all except tips each and every time, and this may be irritating at times. The staff expect room service bills to be settled at once, unlike other hotels where they can be paid up at the time of check out. The staff other than the reception staff; generally has a laid out attitude, at times making the services slow and often requiring multiple follow ups.

The best hotel in yercaud. Centrally located. Excellent tasty food they serve. Cooperative and highly professional staff. Rooms are well maintained and neat. I enjoyed my stay there. Complimentary breakfast is also wonderful. Book in advance

I stayed for 3 days, room was worthy for it's rent, safty wise better with cctv cameras, kids have room to play in garden, but reception staffs need to focus on their job little better, while checking inn i am not informed that my room included with breakfast, because of this everyday i went out for my breakfast, i could have saved those money to spend on something else, as a hotelier I'm not aware of it that my room is included with breakfast, it means a common public who's staying first time may not aware of it. So my request to management that please make sure while guest checks in they should be information about room and their privilege, because of reception staff careless i have to spend more money on my budget, this is the only thing i was unhappy about it.
