The city of Alleppey is located on the coast of the Arabian Sea, in the state of Kerala. The whole district is interspersed with many lakes, lagoons, canals and rivers that are a part of the National Waterways of India. You will not find any mountains, hills or forests in this city, except for a scattering of hillocks along the outskirts of the district. There are a lot of tall coconut palms adorning the district. Alleppey is also famous for its vast paddy fields which appear as a green carpet decorating the district. The city is about 60 km south of Cochin and about 155 km north of the state capital of Trivandrum.
