A one-of-a-kind palace, Krishnapuram Palace is an outstanding example of Kerala Style Architecture. It has narrow corridors, sloping roofs, dormer windows that are well-protected till date by the Archaeology Department of Kerala. The most enticing feature of the palace is the 14 feet by 11 feet mural painting of Gajendra Mokasham, which is the largest of its kind discovered in Kerala. A museum of sorts, this palace also has antique paintings and exquisite sculptures that reflect on the 18th century, which is when it was built by the Travancore king Marthanda Varma Maharaja.
