Lying on an average elevation of 920 metres above sea level and covering 2,190 square kilometres (850 sq mi), Bangalore enjoys a mild and pleasant weather throughout the year. The city is landlocked and nestles in the Deccan Plateau. Though landlocked, the city has its own share of lakes like Sankey Lake, Ulsoor Lake, Yediyur Lake etc. Bangalore has two unique topographies-North Bangalore Taluk and South Bangalore Taluk. The landscape of the South district is a little uneven, with hills and valleys in between. The North taluk is relatively flatter. The geographical location of Bangalore supports deciduous canopies and coconut trees.
