Coimbatore has its own international airport which is around 15km from the city centre. It has regular flights to most of the major cities in India. SpiceJet, Jet Airways, IndiGo airlines etc. are the airlines flying to cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad and so on, from Coimbatore. A few international flights from the airlines like Air Arabia and Silk Air fly to Sharjah and Singapore respectively, to/from this airport. International travellers looking to reach Coimbatore from other parts of the world can make use of Cochin International Airport which is around 160 km from the city and well-connected to most of the main cities of the world via the airlines Etihad Airways, Air India, Emirates, Qatar Airways and so on.

Safety Suggestion: Coimbatore does not receive any snowfall, and blizzards are something unheard of, in the city. So travelling via air to the city is considered as very safe. Monsoons are known to be heavy at times. But even then, the only situation to be aware of is the slight delay in schedules and some turbulence during the flight.
Coimbatore has around five major bus stations which have buses to the cities of the neighbouring states of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Pondicherry, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh. Both private and government operated buses ply from here. Orange Tours and Travels, Kallada Travels, SRM Transports, Hindusthan Travels etc. are a few of the private operators plying to the above mentioned states.
Journey Suggestion: Coimbatore has an extensive network of state and national highways passing through the city. Journey by road is deemed as a wonderful choice but driving in the dark should be avoided. Also, driving along the curves should be done very vigilantly.
Coimbatore Junction is the major railway station in the city. There are many other railway stations like Podanur Junction and Coimbatore North Junction which connects the city to the rest of India. Some of the major trains running to cities like Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad and Mumbai include Chennai Express, Secunderabad Express, Mumbai Express, Kerala Express etc.
