The Haryana Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) also operates buses between Delhi and Dharamshala. There are not many buses connecting the cities in South India to Dharamshala, due to the large distance.
Journey Suggestion: The roads are not in prime condition, especially near to the hills in Dharamshala. You will encounter many hair-pin curves along this route, which need to be cleared with caution. Also, during winter, the visibility will be low with heavy fog and snowfall. So necessary precautions should be taken while planning to reach Dharamshala, by bus.
There is a small railway station, Kangra Mandir, which is 22Km away from Dharamshala. But not many major trains halt here. Many trains halt at the railway station at Pathankot, which is 85Km away from Dharamshala. You can reach Pathankot by train from many cities in India like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bangalore etc. From Pathankot, you can reach Dharamshala by train, taxi or bus.
