Guwahati’s airport is known as Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport. It is the main international airport of northeast India. It is well-connected to many cities in the country, by regular flights. As of now, international flights are limited to Paro in Bhutan and Bangkok in Thailand, via Druk Air. Domestic airlines such as AirAsia India, Air India, GoAir, IndiGo, Jet Airways, SpiceJet and Vistara have flights to and from cities such as Delhi, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, etc. and also to north-eastern cities such as Imphal, Silchar, Aizwal and Shillong.

Safety Suggestion: Usually, there are no weather-related issues for flights landing at Guwahati Airport. However, a thick blanket of fog covers the city during the winter season. This can cause delays in flight schedules, though such instances happen rarely.
Guwahati is connected to the states of West Bengal, Bihar and Jharkhand via National Highway 31. It is connected to other cities in Assam and to Dimapur in Nagaland, through National Highway 37. Rupnath Brahma Inter-State Bus Terminus (ISBT) is the main intercity transit point. There are a number of private and public buses that facilitate intercity and interstate transport. Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC) is a public bus service offering ordinary, luxury, deluxe, semi-deluxe, A/C and non-A/C buses. Some of the private operators are Anuraag Travels, Under Royal, Trishul Transport Service, Royal Tour and Travels, etc.
Journey Suggestion: Roads and highways that pass though Guwahati are in decent condition. But during the monsoon season, the city experiences artificial floods because of the inadequacy of the drainage system. This disrupts the daily life of the residents and tourists.
Guwahati Junction is located in the Paltan Bazar area. It is the main railway station of the city. It is connected to many towns and cities in the state of Assam as well as cities across the country such as Delhi, Trivandrum, Bangalore and Chandigarh. Ordinary trains as well as A/C trains and superfast express trains operate from here. Some of these trains are Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express, Guwahati-Thiruvananthapuram Express, Guwahati-Bangalore Express and Dibrugarh-Chandigarh Express.
