Indore is known to have a humid subtropical climate. The summer season, from March to June, is extremely hot with temperatures ranging from 21 ⁰C to 45 ⁰C. July brings a much-needed relief from the heat, in the form of the southwest monsoons. The city experiences a moderate rainfall in the monsoon season which lasts till the end of September. October sees the beginning of winter. This is the peak tourist season, with the temperature ranging between 8 ⁰C and 28 ⁰C. Lasting till the end of March, the winter season is a pleasant and cool time in the city. A curious climatic feature in Indore is that, no matter how high the daytime temperature rises, the nights will always be cool. This is due to the cool breeze, ‘shab-e-malwa’, that blows through this region.
