This small town has a population of just 18306 people. The people of Kullu are primarily into agriculture, but now a majority of them have gone into other occupations such as tourism, the handloom industry and other fields. The government sector is still one of the most chosen sources of employment. \n\nSince the weather is always cool – the people of Kullu dress in warm clothes that are traditional in nature. The men war long coats with pants and a cap. They sometimes carry a shawl or wear it around their shoulders. The women wear a ‘pattoo’ which is a long gown that’s bound at the waist by a cloth belt. A cloth is used to cover their head and they too wear thick, bright shawls.
