Several city buses ply the city of Kurnool. However, buses are not a very popular option for tourists visiting the city. This is mainly because heavy traffic causes buses to reach their destination even slower than taxis or auto rickshaws. There was a proposal to introduce around 120 buses in the city, but only 25 were sanctioned.
Taxis and auto rickshaws are the most popular choices for tourists who wish to travel around the city. Kurnool has no dearth of autorickshaws operating in the city and they are also easy to hire. There are several taxi services available in the city as well. Savaari and Yatragenie are two of the larger service providers with taxis running in the city.
Car and bike rental services are available in the city. Kurnool has many companies that rent out cars. Some of these companies are Nani Tours and Travels, Spoorthy Tours and Travels, Sri Manikanta Travels, and Sitara Tours and Travels.
There is no metro plying in Kurnool.
Kurnool has no local train.
Although there aren’t too many spots in Kurnool where you go for a trek, the Belum Caves makes up for a lack of options. The cave is the second largest in India, at 3229 m long and gives you an opportunity to explore its interiors at great lengths. If this does not satisfy the trekker in you, you can always walk to the village of Kolimigundla, which is 3 km away.
