Agatti Aerodrome is the only domestic airport in Lakshadweep and is well-connected by frequent flights from Cochin International Airport, which is the only connected airport to Lakshadweep at the moment and Indian Airlines, the only flight operator. Indian Airlines operates a daily flight to Agatti Aerodrome, except on Sundays. Tourists from other countries must first travel to Cochin and then catch a connecting flight to Lakshadweep. Kingfisher Airlines has proposed to start a service between Cochin, Bangalore and Lakshadweep in the near future. This will make the trip to Lakshadweep a lot easier.

Safety Suggestion: It is not advisable to take a flight to Lakshadweep during June and August, as the monsoon in this region is rough. During these months, Lakshadweep experiences heavy sporadic precipitation. Also, the weather is unpredictable and unforeseeable during these months.
There is no bus connectivity to Lakshadweep, as it is an island, 300 kms off the coast of Kerala. However, there is ship connectivity, with seven passenger ships operating between Cochin and Lakshadweep. The seven passengers are, MV Amindivi, MV Arabian Sea, MV Bharat Seema, MV Kavaratti, MV Lakshadweep Sea, MV Minicoy and MV Dweep Setu. The ships offer various classes of accommodation, like A/C Deluxe Class with two berth cabins, Tourist Class with A/C seating and A/C First Class with four berth cabins.
Journey Suggestion: There is only ship and flight connectivity to Lakshadweep. Due to rough weather conditions and heavy monsoon, the water ways remain closed. The ships do not operate from 15th of May to 15th of September.
