Moradabad is located in the state of Uttar Pradesh in India, on the banks of the river Ramganga (a tributary of the Ganges). The city is situated at an elevation of 198 m (650 ft.) and spans across an area of 3,493 sq. km. (1,349 sq. mi). It is a part of the Moradabad district, within the Gangetic plain. The city is located at a distance of 167 km from the national capital of Delhi and 345 km from the state capital of Lucknow. The flora of the region mainly consists of species of Sesum, Jamun, Mango, Semal and Dhak, while the fauna comprises mostly livestock animals.
