The transport within the city is managed by the buses of NMPL (Nagpur Mahanagar Parivahan Limited). This includes a huge number of 470 low floor star buses, serving around 2.5 lakhs people here under various schemes of the government. Nagpur is first to have an ethanol-powered bus, ‘Green Bus’ causing no pollution and serving people since August 2014.
Auto rickshaw is other popular option after city buses to commute within the city.
The rental car service on mobile applications offered by Ola, Uber and Taxi For Sure are available in the city. Other than this, Kumar Travels, Clear Car Rental and Savaari are a few companies that offer services for travelling within and outskirts of the city. Airport and railway station pick and drop services are also provided by these companies. Many other local travel companies offer special buses for tourists, based on destinations and duration of travel.
The construction work is underway for developing metro train transport for the city since 2014.
Passenger trains connect within Nagpur districts nearby destinations like Ajni, Itwari, Kalamna, Godhini and others.
