Jaipur Places to Visit

Top Tourist Places to visit in Jaipur:
Some of the famous places in Jaipur are as follows:

• Hawa Mahal: Built by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh in 1799, Hawa Mahal is situated in Jaipur’s Badi Chaupad. The architecture of Hawa Mahal is very unique, consisting of small windows that allow the cool breeze to come inside the palace. It was constructed mainly for the women of the royal house and they used to come here to enjoy the cool air and to observe the procession and festivities on the streets. Further, the fort is built in Rajputana architectural style with red and pink sandstone. Spread across five floors, the mahal has a pyramidal structure which bears a resemblance to a crown. The charming fountain offers a warm welcome to the visitors. Also, the top of the mahal offers a dazzling view of Siredeori Bazaar, the City Palace and Jantar Mantar. While exploring the beauty of Hawa Mahal, the visitors will come across a small museum, holding wonderful miniature paintings and artefacts. The entry fee to visit Hawa Mahal is Rs. 50 and it remains open from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm.

• City Palace: The City Palace is one of the most popular tourist spots in Jaipur. The gigantic complex of the palace features several lush green gardens, courtyards and buildings. Also, the palace houses Chandra Mahal and the Mubarak Mahal. At present, the small part of Chandra Mahal serves as a museum, which houses a royal heritage in the form of ancient weapons and beautifully handcrafted products. The City Palace has three gates but only two are open to public i.e. the Virendra Pol and Udai Pol. A visit to this fort will surely take you to the royal age!

• Amber Palace: A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Amber Palace is the most popular tourist destination in Jaipur. Located on rocky hills and built under the regime of Maharaja Man Singh I, the palace has been showcasing a perfect blend of Hindu and Mughal styles, since 1592. The palace was constructed at a height to protect it against an attack by enemies. The great architecture and unique designs on the red sandstone and white marble walls leave the visitors awestruck.

• Jaigarh Fort: Jaigarh Fort is situated around 15 km away from the centre of Jaipur. It was built in the early 18th century by the Hindu Rajput ruler, Sawai Jai Singh II.
