April and May are the hottest months with the average maximum temperature being 37 °C. By late June, monsoon season sets in and the city is lashed by heavy rain. But by October the monsoon is over and the city is hit by high temperatures again, and this stay till late November. The city gets a reprieve from the sweltering heat with the onset of winter season, which starts in the month of December and ends in late February. The weather is quite pleasant with average mean temperatures of around 23 °C.
