About Digha Railway Station

Located near the New Digha Beach of Purba Medinipur District in West Bengal, Digha Flag Station (DGHA) is a terminal on the Tamluk-Digha line. It was opened in 1992 to offer better transport facilities. The terminal is operated by the South-Eastern Railway and comes under Kolkata Suburban Railway zone, Kharagpur Division. Though a flag station (trains stop only when signaled), it connects Medinipur district with the rest of West Bengal. Earlier a junction, the Digha Flag Station was rebuilt as an electrified station in 2002 with better amenities.

Trains Departing from Digha Flag Station to Other Stations With a number of 3 platforms, Digha Flag Station (DGHA) efficiently manages 8 originating and 9 terminating trains.

Trains to Top Pilgrimage Sites:

A total of two trains connect DGHA to Puri. One train from DGHA links to Visakhapatnam, a pilgrimage city with an abundance of temples, such as the Simhachalam Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha temple. Due to limited rail traffic, the nearest busiest railway station, Howrah Junction, is at a distance of 185 km, and DGHA runs four direct trains to Howrah Junction from where tourists get connectivity to all over India.

Trains to Metro Cities:

Given the less passenger movement from the station, DGHA sends forth only one train to Vishakhapatnam and four trains to Howrah. Asansol being the second largest city in West Bengal after Kolkata, DGHA offers one train to Asansol. Passengers can find their various options to travel to metro cities via Howrah and Asansol.
