About Thane Railway Station

Thane Railway Station (TNA) lies on the central line of the Mumbai Suburban Railway network. This railway station caters to fast, semi-fast, and slow trains including short and long distance trains. Thane TNA Railway Station handles about 6.5 lakhs passengers every day and is known to be the busiest railway station in suburban Mumbai. Over a thousand trains visit this station every day, which includes about 130 to 140 long distance trains. It has ten platforms. Thane was the terminus for the first ever passenger train in India. In 1853, the first passenger train was inaugurated, which offered service between Bori Bunder and Thane. It was also the first station in Mumbai Suburban which had escalators installed in two of its platforms.
