The airline commenced its operations in September 1993, and since then has been successfully offering passenger, mail and cargo services to its various destinations. The major shareholders of this carrier are Shenzhen International Total Logistics Ltd and Air China. A Star Alliance member, it is the fourth biggest domestic airline in China.

On the other hand, cabin baggage allowance on its international flights is limited to two pieces of bags with weight not exceeding 5 kg in First class and one piece of bag with weight not exceeding 5 kg in Business an Economy Class.
