Benazir Bhutto International Airport is the international airport of Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, and was earlier known as Islamabad International Airport. Located around 8 km southeast from the city, the airport is the third-largest airport of Pakistan. It is named after a prominent leader, Benazir Bhutto, the then Prime Minister of Pakistan. Nearly 23 airlines operate from the airport serving more than 34 cities, both domestic and international. There are almost 160 domestic and 295 international flights operating from the airport every week. Islamabad International Airport saw annual passenger traffic of 4,767,860 in the year 2015.
