Allama Iqbal International Airport, lahore

Lahore International airport was renamed as Allama Iqbal International Airport, after Allama Iqbal who was one of the pioneers in the creation of Pakistan. Located around 15 km from the city of Lahore, Lahore airport is the second largest civilian airport in Pakistan. The airport is spread over an area of 1364 acres. It has 2 parallel runways- one concrete and one asphalt, 7 air bridges, 22 parking bays, and equipped with facilities to handle the Boeing 747 aircraft.

In 2016, the Lahore airport handled a passenger traffic of over 4.7 million and became the 2nd busiest airport in Pakistan. It has been consistently ranked the 2nd best international airport in Pakistan.
