Terminals Trivia

Los Angeles Airport has nine passenger terminals that are arranged like a horseshoe, connected by a U-shaped two-level roadway. Baggage check-in is available at the upper level, while baggage claim is done on the lower level. Southwest Airlines uses Terminal 1 exclusively, while Terminal 2 is used only by Delta and its codeshare partners.

Terminal 3 is used only for Delta Airlines flights. American Airlines has exclusive access of Terminal 4. Terminals 5 and 6 are shared by multiple airlines, whereas Terminals 7 and 8 are used exclusively by United Airlines. Terminal 9, known as Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT) is used mostly by other international airlines. All terminals are interconnected through shuttle buses for the comfort of passengers.

Other public bus services include Culver City bus lines, Torrance Transit, and Santa Monica Big Blue Bus. Taxis are usually parked in front of the terminals under a sign that indicates the same. It’s well organized and passengers are given fare estimates for major destinations so that there are no surprises later. Rental cars/shuttles are available at the LAX Airport for pick-up and drop. You can choose from Alamo, Avis, Budget, Hertz, and Fox, among others.
