Paris Airport, also known as Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport or Roissy Airport, is located 16 miles north-east of Paris, France. Previously, it was called as Aéroport de Paris Nord and reopened in March 1974 as Paris-Charles de Gaulle. The airport is named after former French president Charles de Gaulle. Paris Airport is the second largest airport in Europe and eighth largest in the world in terms of passenger traffic. It serves as the global hub for Air France and as the European hub for Delta Air Lines. It received the Skytrax World Airport Awards 2015 for the “Most Improved Airport Worldwide” and has been nominated for the Europe's Leading Airport 2017 award. It handled 7.3 million passengers in January 2017.
