The Pattaya Airport, also called the U-Tapao International Airport is a small airport with about three to four operations per week of domestic and international flights. While there are expansion plans underway, for now the airport operates flights to Koh Samui, Phuket, Chiang Mai, Shanghai, Macau, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore.

U-Tapao Pattaya International Airport is a joint airport that serves both civil-military as well as public. The airport also serves as the U-Tapao Royal Third Navy Airfield. It is located midway between Rayong and Pattaya, about 140 km southeast of Bangkok. U-Tapao Airport is about a 45-min. drive from Pattaya in Thailand. It can handle about 800,000 people in a year. The other two airports of Bangkok being over populated, the government intends to turn U-Tapao into a third major destination in Bangkok. So Pattaya Airport is gradually becoming one of the major tourist hubs.
