"Would you recommend this to others" - Fairly likely

I'd stay as far away from Air India as possible. The check-in staff try to shove responsibilities to the next country counter to avoid helping the customer. While traveling from Birmingham to Bombay via Delhi, I requested an earlier Delhi-Bombay connection as my colleagues happened to be on it. BHX staff said it can only be done from Delhi, however on arrival, Delhi staff said it should have been done from BHX as no seats were available (there were 7 seats empty on that flight). The entertainment system wasn't working. I had to ask 7 times before an attendant finally decided to "reboot" it. It didn't solve the issue, and as this flight was full, for 8 hours, i had to occupy myself by reading the English subtitles of the Hindi movies playing on the screen of the passenger next to me. The food and beverage was RUBBISH. They only serve Orange juice, Coke and Sprite (which we can manage with), however the meals (if you can call it that) was a disgrace. Apparently, Continental breakfast is a single banana muffin, and dinner is a frozen cheese croissant. There were much more issues like 3 hour delays etc.,but bottom line - just avoid Air India at any cost.
