Flights to Johannesburg – South Africa’s largest metropolis

Johannesburg is the second largest metropolis in Africa. Bustling with life and a diverse cross-section of people, Joburg or Jozi (as the city is often called) has a lot to offer. The city is home to 10 million trees and is often referred to as a man-made forest. A young city, Johannesburg began developing as a result of boom in the gold industry.

The weather of Johannesburg is extremely pleasant. In fact, very few places around the globe are blessed with such pleasant subtropical highland climate. When you visit Johannesburg, you must plan well as there are many places to visit and all are too beautiful to be missed. The various interesting places to visit include Apartheid Museum, Gold Reef City, Constitution Hill, Montecasino, Lion Park, Cradle of Humankind, South African National Museum of Military History, Botanical Garden and Johannesburg Zoo.

The O.R. Tambo International Airport is the primary airport near Johannesburg for domestic and international airlines. Remarkably, the airport is one of the few airports which have direct flights to all six inhabited continents. It is also South Africa’s busiest airport.

I had difficulty in checking in Online for the flight EY 8894. The PNR I was provided were not able to check me in. There wasn't any coordination between Etihad and Jet Airways in the above mentioned flight. I wasn't helped in this by Etihad executives though I had booked the tickets through them. Meal voucher should be provided to travelers who have a long stop over at airports.

The business class seats did not flatten. Also the buttons for seat adjustment were very hard and had to call the flight attendants all the time.

The Etihad and Jet airways planes are really old and crampy from inside.. On an international flight, I did not expect the tray tables to be broken (ETIHAD) and the seats torn off, cup holders broken (JET).. The crew on ETIHAD was very attentive and helpful but the same was not the case with HET.. The crew was just doing the bare minimum to serve the customers.

British Airways could not check us in for this flight, said someone probably forgot to load the passenger list onto their system. They had all the passengers waiting, with no information. Then they did manual checking and was very poorly managed. Unbelievably poor quality of service! Not sure if I want to suggest any improvement as they probably dont want to know.
