The city of Geneva has a population of 197,376 individuals according to a 2014 count. The Canton of Geneva has a population of 915,000 and represents the larger urban agglomeration. This area is culturally French, and thus most of the people here are French speakers. Geneva used to be a centre for mostly Protestant Christianity although it has now become a dwelling for Roman Catholics due to migration over the past century. However, due to the city being the European headquarters of the UNO, there are people from many countries and many faiths living here permanently. Although part of Switzerland which is famous for chocolate, the cuisine is very French influenced while still having its uniqueness.
